Darling don’t you know by now, You made the home out of this old house. Any four walls and a roof above can block the rain but only you, only you bring the sun. So bring it on home to me. I’ll give you all of my love… all my love. Every day, every day, every day… Anyway you want. When your body feels tired and weak, from your head down to the souls of your feet don’t let this world get you down on you’re knees pick up your heavy heart bring it on home… bring it home to me. I give you all of my love… All my love. Every day, every day, every day. Anyway you want. I give you all of my love, my love, my love. Every day, every day, every day. Anyway you want… Any way you want it now, Any way you want it now, Anyway you want it now. Bring it on home to me, Bring it on home to me… Anyway you want it now, Anyway you want it now, Anyway you want it now… Bring it on home to me.

I remember it well, that November in the morning when the first snow fell. The trees were bare and the leaves were gone. You came walking through the clouds like an angel does, you took my hand, yes… and I was kissed by the sun. Ooo yeah, you give me color when I am gray. You give me color. You give me color, when I am gray. Wherever you are… wherever you are, I want to go that way. One hundred years if you’re lucky— maybe 75, most spend a lifetime dying to feel alive. I was one of the many, like a ghost in the fog. Reaching for nothing until you came along. Ooo yeah, you give me color when I am gray. You give me color. You give me color, when I am gray. Wherever you are… wherever you are, I want to go that way. Take me somewhere over the rainbow. Lift me up, take me home, home to you.

Picture You 04:17
I picture you in long black dress, high-heels on and your hair a mess. Backyard dancing in the light of the moon, that summer heat had nothing on you. That summer heat had nothing on you. I’ve been waiting all of my life, to find something I could call my own. I saw you, dancing in the sun I knew you had the love that I’d call my home. I love you, for the rest of my days, till I rest in my grave by your your side. Honey, you don’t have to be alone, I’ll be yours and you’ll be mine. I picture you in a long white dress. I said I do on the day we met. Life is short, but honey we’ve got time. You and me, we’re gunna be fine. You and me gunna be just fine. When the world feels like it’s about to break, my body and mind had all they can take. The money ain’t coming, the bill aren’t paid, it’s all falling through… I picture you.

Broken Wings 04:18
Mother wake me up, I have been dreaming too long I don't know what to believe in anymore In this world so wrong, I got lost and nothing feels like home at all. But I know she’d say… I know she’d say… Even though the rain is still falling, I know you will find your way Anybody’s heart can be broken, life is easy to find pain. Even though the rain is still falling, remember the sun still shines behind the grey The heavy hands of time, rest on my shoulder. And colder this heart is growing. I know, I ain’t no angel just broken wings… is heaven just too high for me? But I know she’d say… I know she’d say… Even though the rain is still falling, I know you will find your way. Anybody’s heart can be broken, life is easy to find pain. Even though the rain is still falling down, remember the sun still shines behind the grey. And I know it’s gunna come, shining down Yes, I know... Any day now... She'd say… Even though the rain is still falling, I know you will find your way. Anybody’s heart can be broken, life is easy to find pain. Even though the rain is still falling down, remember the sun still shines behind the grey.

You better get ready, you gotta know this is the calm before the storm. Life’s gunna get heavy, rain’s gunna fall you’re gunna rise above it all. And when you feel like you’re the only one… Know there’s nothing in you, that’s different in me. The same kind of lost, in the same old sea. But in-between, we find who we are. You'll never know love until you’ve lost it, it’s in the hurt where you learn what it cost. And in-between, you’ll find who you are And you learn to let go. This world is a crazy beautiful light, pushing through the darkness, one of a kind. But you better get ready, careful now— this world can break even the best of them down. And when you feel like your the only one… Know there’s nothing in you, that’s different in me. The same kind of lost, in the same old sea. But in-between, we find who we are. You'll never know love until you’ve lost it, It’s in the hurt where you learn what it cost. And in-between, you’ll find who you are And you learn to let go. And faith, just like ocean tides, it’s under the waves that crash upon your shore line and always will remain— when you can’t trust the wind to guide you home. There’s nothing in you, that’s different in me. The same kind of lost, in the same old sea. But in-between, we find who we are. You'll never know love until you’ve lost it, it’s in the hurt where you learn what it cost. And in-between, you’ll find who you are And you learn to let go.

about

Award Winning Artist Ian Flanigan Debut’s New EP “Give Me Color”

“Give Me Color” (available everywhere music is played) is the second recording project Flanigan plans to release this year. This new self-described “collection of songs dedicated to all the women in my life, for their love and support” is a spirited and shamelessly enjoyable compilation. This five song EP is the soundtrack to this new chapter of Flanigan’s songwriting, much different than his prior full album release (“Shades of Blue,” August 2017). The EP is a summer hit for the playlists.

The dispatch of the title single “Give Me Color” truly sets a stage for Ian’s celebrated earthy vocals and compelling instrumentals, as well as his humility… and there’s a sweetness too. Flanigan’s ongoing collaboration with three-time Grammy winning engineer and producer Justin Guip (Levon Helm, Hot Tuna) promises an EP for every season and a little something for everyone. The “Give Me Color” EP features Jesse Murphy (Norah Jones, John Scofield) on bass, Andrew Borkowski on Cello, Scot Milici on Hammond, Justin Guip on Drums, and showcases Flanigan’s superior songwriting and unique guitar playing style throughout.

When asked to describe Flanigan, John Barry of the Poughkeepsie Journal says, “Imagine Tom Waits as a member of Mumford and Sons, playing songs by The Lumineers, with a hint of Chris Stapleton.” Best of the Hudson Valley’s 2019 “Best Vocalist” and “Best Artist,” Ian Flanigan is a celebrated Kerrville Grassy Hill Folk Festival Finalist, Hope Rocks Artist of the Year, Emerging Falcon Ridge Folk Festival Artist, and alumni of Dripping Springs Songwriter Festival.
